European Handball Court of Arbitration A court of arbitration in the world of sport

ECA and European Handball

The European Handball Federation has created the European Handball Court of Arbitration in the 8th extraordinary EHF Congress in Rome.

The setting-up of an efficient and independent mean of handball dispute resolution adapted to the specificity of the sport and complementary to the internal legal system existing within the EHF was a most important objective for the European Handball Federation.

The European Handball Federation has officially recognised the competence of the European Handball Court of Arbitration in order to give the possibility to all European handball stakeholders to present their handball-related disputes to an external arbitration court once all internal legal channels available within the EHF or the Member Federations have been exhausted.
